Food Combining

Perhaps you have never heard that it is important to combine the food right, but it has helped me, and many with me, to get rid of bloating and gas.

The reason that some foods do not combine is that the enzymes counteract each other and inhibits the digestion. The food will ferment in the stomach. Starches and protein should not be mixed.
As a thumb role the stomach should be empty before a new kind of food is eaten. The stomach is empty after 30 to 45 minutes after fruit intake. After other food intake you should wait about 3 to 4 hours before eating a new kind of food.

This may seem troublesome at first, but this is really helpful if you have any kind of digestive disorder.

Everyone is different and you can test your way to find what works for you.

• Fresh fruit always on empty stomach.
• Melons are different and should always be eaten alone, not even mixed with other fruits.
• Protein like meat, fish, poultry and egg combines with vegetables and root-vegetables (low starchy ones)
• Starches like grains and starchy root vegetables (potatoes and sweet potatoes) combines with vegetables.
• Legumes consists of both protein and starches and you can choose to combine with either protein or starches. Find out what works best for you.
• Do not drink too much while you eat. Wait about one hour.
